SHAKESPEARE AND ALL THAT JAZZ!
Sunday, May 31
2:30 PM to 3:45 PM
Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library
Gold Hall

1125 Broadway, Hewlett, NY 11557 (Long Island).
The Bard's original words from his plays and sonnets, set to Jazz arrangements by John Dankworth, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, and others. You never knew the Old Will could swing? Discover this unique material, which was first presented by the great Cleo Laine in the mid-sixties. Everything from sultry ballads to light-hearted ditties. We intersperse these rarely-heard numbers with Standards from the Great American Songbook that deal with the same age-old themes the Bard already sang about. With Christiana on vocals, Charles Sibirsky on piano, Stephanie Greig on bass, Michael Petrosino on drums. Hey Nonny Nonny! Free!
